Background-Info: 1974, on the eve of the 25th anniversary of the GDR opposite to Dresden main station the Lenin-monument was unveiled. The monument was created by the soviet sculptor Grigorij Jastrebenetzki out of red karelofinnish granite.
On 3er of September 1991 the members of Dresden city council decided to remove the unloved monument from the cityscape as well as to give it away as a present.
Today, in May 2012, a huge hole gapes at this spot, the so called "Viennese Hole".
